Green Suit Man

Finally, after two weeks, two visits to the pediatrician, and countless unavoidable baths, Jacob's bout with the stomach bug is over. That was fun.

Our little man is now back to normal, and thankfully, as of last night, he's decided that there's really no need for waking up at 2am and screaming incessantly for an hour.

He just woke up, so I need to cut this short... HERE ARE.. a few pictures of him in his green suit.

Video On Demand

Here are a couple of quick movies to quench your video thirst. Olivia has become quite adept at parroting whatever she hears... She picked up this gem from her grandfather, Papa Mark.

Jacob wasn't too talkative this evening, probably because he was still upset with me because I took him to the Doctor this morning (for his 18 month check-up). Doc says that we're supposed to feed the kid... I was unaware. Please feel free to pass along your tips for fattening up a 1 1/2 yr old who hates meat.

2 B!

Here's my pal fresh out of the bath. This picture does not show how for the preceding 5 minutes Jacob sat on the bed demanding that we put Elmo on the TV.  He likes Elmo, have I mentioned that?
He also likes his friend Olivia. We went over to play after dinner tonight. After a few minutes in Olivia's living room, she asked that we go "to B". B, for the un-informed, is her basement... I don't blame her for wanting to go there, its a fun very place.  Olivia's parents have really out-done themselves... they setting up an arts and crafts room with a chaulk board, magnetic wall, and little kid arts table.
Tonight O&J drew some pictures and also worked very hard on learning how to share. It seems they both wanted to play with the stroller, at the same time.  We were able to convince them to take turns, sort of.  Happily after some rough moments, they were able to 'hug it out' before we went home.  Check out the pictures of tonight's adventure right HERE..

Jacob's W0rds at 18 months

This is a 'for the record' post... I've moved the "words" from the side bar to an actual post...

After 18 short months, Jacob's vocabulary has really started to grow, here's a list of his words:
Mommy, Elmo, Dada, Elmo, Corey, Elmo, Ok, Hi, Bye-Bye (which generally comes out more like Baaaahhyeeee!, he yells), car, up, cracker, no, yah, go, papa, uncle, nose, eyes.
I'll try to keep this list up to date, at least until it becomes unwieldy (there's a good word to teach him).

I'm not sure you can include animal sounds as words, but he's got the following sounds down pat: bahhhhhh!, woof-woof, quack, and moo.... I'll let you figure out the corresponding animals.

Shhhhhhhhhhhh

No, I didn't turn on the light... Just a very long exposure, thankfully he stayed very still. I almost got in the crib with him... but decided that would be a bad idea.

Hi Uncle Rossy!

Rossy and Heidi made it down from VT to have a little dinner with the family.  It was great to have everyone together (I sound like I'm 70).

Anyway, Harry made a delicious beef stew, if only we had a crusty bread. Thankfully we were a day short of Aimee's birthday so we got to have some delicious cake as well.

Vovie?

If you happen to know what vovie means, please share it with us. Jacob has been saying it for a couple days and we haven't a clue of the word's translation.
Other new words include 'snow', 'uncle', and of course, 'car'. He now gets very excited (complete with dancing and yelling) when its time for a ride in the car. Right now his pronunciation of 'car' sounds more like 'cah'. I suppose we can't hold that against him.
This picture was taken on Ogunquit beach last weekend.  Hopefully I'll get more pictures up here soon.
